Well we have hit the road again :)
We left Etty Bay at 11am on Thursday morning & headed up to the Savannah Way.
Beautiful scenery as went through Millaa Millaa:
There wasn't too much traffic & we seen a few vans heading the other way.
The road was more like a goat track in some spots, Lots of road works but as it was Anzac Day nobody was working :)
Lots of road like this! |
We got to Georgetown & the Caravan Park was full so we headed 20 kms up the road to a lovely free camp called Cumberland, ( 249 in Camps book) mind you it was raining when we pulled in so we didn't get to see how nice it was until the next morning.
Plenty Of space |
A beautiful lake with lots of birdlife |
We called into Croyden for a rest stop. It had the nicest Information Centre;
Very Quaint Toilet Block |
Metal Sculptures |
We got to Normanton about lunchtime & set up at the Caravan Park. We were supposed to meet up with some friends here, but unfortunately they got held up on their trip, we still may see them on the road :)
Normanton Tourist Caravan Park |
Beautiful Pelicans |
This huge Bulk Carrier came in to load up Zinc & takes it out to the Mother ship. |
Beautiful way to end the Day |
Could only have 1 Bundy though cause it is 80kms drive back to Normanton :(
Today we went for a walk up the main street & said hello to Krys :
Pretty Impressive - Hey! |
& of course the Purple Pub, might call in for a drink this arvo :)
It look more Purple than the photo! |
Until next time,
Cheers & Happy Travels Shell
