Teigz Visit

Well it certainly has been a hectic week. Teigz landed at 4.30am on Friday morning, so it was pick her up & back to the Motel room for a few hours sleep!

She wanted to fit in as much as possible in her week here so we headed off to Hartleys Crocodile Adventures at 9am.
Obviously this is the best time of year to go there as we must have seen ALL the crocs, they were out sunning themselves everywhere :)

The boat cruise was excellent the crocs jumped up so high:

There were other animals of course:

We had a very good morning there & then hit the shops in Cairns for a bit if retail therapy.
Apparently this suit just had to be bought:

We drove back to Etty Bay for the night, then first thing the next morning we drove down to Townsville to spend the weekend with Shantelle & Pete.
We were pretty tired after our 3 hour drive.
We had lunch at Hogs Breathe:

After our lunch it was off to the motel & have a few drinks
where the girls had some fun:

Then we got all dressed up & went out for dinner:

We had a great night!

The next day we all had lunch together & then it was time to head home for our 3 hour drive.

We called into Cardwell - unfortunately the bakery was closed :(

But they are coming along leaps & bounds with all the repairs to the foreshore:

Monday I took Teigz to Paronella Park to see the water fall:

Tuesday down to Etty Bay Beach

Tuesday arvo I had to mow the lawn so Teigz had a ride on "John"

Wednesday it was off to Cairns to pick up Dave. We called into Josephine Falls on the way:

As Teigz was leaving the next night we stayed up in Cairns. We picked Dave up & had a few drinks in the room:

The next day we took Teigz to the Cairns Zoo. Another perfect day to end her visit.

As you can see we certainly did pack in a lot in one week. Plus the weather was perfect.

She back home now in W.A in the cold :(

A Busy Couple Of Weeks

Wow we have been very busy around here lately.
We had some soil delivered back in July to make some garden beds, but it rained & we had visitors so we were unable to move it.
So as soon as the weather cleared up I we got stuck into it.
We put 2 new garden beds at the front of our house & at the side of our house we have several palms that we decided to fill in between them & make 1 big garden bed.

John & Trailer came in very handy

Then we filled it in with lots of shrubs - much better than riding the mower round & round the palms.
It took me about 4 days to do all that as Dave was at work - of course!

Then we he came home we had arranged to have 8 palms delivered for the front - so Dave dug all the holes - Big Job!

Lucky I didn't have to do that!

Just as they were delivered our friends Stephen & Robyn arrived in with their Bushtracker.

 After they set up we had a quick chat & cuppa & then they volunteered to help us plant the palms. We were very grateful as it would have taken us alot longer by ourselves.

All Done

Stephen & Robyn stayed the night & we had a lovely time catching up. They left for Cairns first thing the next morning.

Then we were back in the garden setting up sprinklers.

We also transplanted a tree from the otherside of our yard:

Once again John & Trailer very handy!

All Done!

Well now that all the planting is done I just have to keep up the water as it has been pretty warm here.
Our busy time is not over yet though, Teigan is flying over for a week on friday & then we are spending a few days in Port Douglas with Rob & Marg.
